REMARKABLE CLAIMS
BERLIN, Ist February. The Government's latest memorandum referring to repar.ijions is remarkable. It claims that the country has paid £1700 millions more than the Reparations Commission'shows, as a result of the under-estimation of deliveries in kind, notably of coal,' on which the book deficiency is £68,000,000. Furthermore, Germany is credited with only £650,000 for properties seized, whereas the true value is £500 millions.
