Quite,a tfum; ber of single men I know "would be very willing to go to Trentham X'amp, under some army scheme. I would suggesf'that men going to this camp \\ ould work three days per week cutting bush on the hills or some other work, and the remaining days gi\en to sports and physical exercise; the men to be paid ten^-shillings pocket money and clothes and food provided— surely not a very hard thing to request Irom the Government, considering that there are huts in that camp with a suoply of boots and clothes, etc. I believe this scheme was a great success in Italy, so why not here' It would also keep a lot of men from becoming \agrants or human wrecks. It is a great pity to see such a fine camp going to waste, and it would also give the Permanent Force something to do; the camp to be run in proper military fashion, and the strictest discipline used —I am, etc , » A SINGLE MAX \
