WEDDING
Tho, marriage was celebrated yesterday at' St. Alban's Church, Eastbourne, of Mollie, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mjs.. ; Q. N: Gillespie, Muritai, and Arthur,'only son of Mr. and Mrs; Arthur Sutherland, "Wharekura," Pahnerston North., The ceremony was performed by the Yen. Archdeacon Innes-Jones. Shaded blue hydrangeas with a background of native greenery wero used to decorate the church. The bride,,who was escorted by her father, wore a long, . graceful frock of parchment tinted Chantilly lace with two ''circular flounces ( at the hip line. Long fitting sleeves were: puffed above the elbow, and her veil'of tinted net (presented by her-godmother, Mrs.' A. S. Taylor, Christchurch) was arranged' with a circlet of golden orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of red flowers. ■:.Two bridesmaids) Misses Nancy-and Barbara, Gillespie (sisters), wore picturesque, frocks of deep red georgette with; bustle, effect, at the waist.-The long -skirtsflared from-a moulded .hip yoke, | and the bodices were finished : with I quaint' epaulettes. They wore bandeau heatidresses of parchment tinted i primulas, and, carried posies to tone with their frocks. Two small bridesmaids, Misses Mary Leahy (Napier) :and Diana, Taylor ,(Ghristchurch), wore ; frocks of the same «olonr tied with vcl- . vet sashes, and carried" small posies! , The mothers of the two small maids had , been "bridesmaids at the wedding of tho bride's, mother. Mr. Duncan -;,Guy (Palmerston North) was best man,'and Mr. John Pinch' (Wellington) groomsman. At the subsequent rocoption, tho_ rooms were decorated with a pro-' fusion of zinnias, roses,'and begonias, specially beautiful begonias' being; massed round, the,,base of the deep1 cream coloured wedding cake. Mrs. Gillespie wore a smart frock of string' coloured point d'Alencon lace, and she' carried a bouquet 'of. abutUons. Mrs. Sutherland was in a floral chiffon frock and a black|Hat.'i Heribouquet was of •cornflowers:. Mrs.'' H; ■■ M. Hay ward (great aunt of the bride) wore a black lace frock.,; Mrs. 3? i: Holds worth (arint) was in black jprinted chiffon, and Mrs. A.- S. Taylor ;.-(,Clirist<!htir<ih). wore an ensemble, ofrnut'brown V.lace. ~ Mrs; Leahy"'(Nspier); wore pink floral georgette, -i .Miss^'Pat 'Gillespie '-..was in a peach coloured organdie frock, and Miss Xv ' Holdswbrthi, • wore wine-coloured satin.
