ANSWER TO CORRESPONDENT.

A correspondent "Subscriber" writes asking for the date of the wreck and locality of the two ships, Wellington and Cyrus. The barque Cyrus, 317 tons, with a crew of ten and three passengers, under' the -command of Captain P. Andrews, was wrecked two and a half miles to'the eastward of Sinclair Head, in Cook Strait, on 7th March, X 874. Five were drowned. Tho ship Wellington, 696 tons, with a crew of fourteen, under the command of Captain H. E. Hall, was wrecked in the same locality as tho Cyrus, and on the same day. Two were drowned.
