LUCKY CHILDREN

The publishing house of Cobden-San-derson has been fortunate in securing a hitherto unpublished story by Maria Edgeworth which, was found in an old house in the South of Ireland/ "The Most Unfortunate Day of My Life" was probably a Christmas present from Miss Edgeworth. herself to one of the children of the family which was connected with hers, as' she tad bound her MS... carefully, in scarlet, leather. Children of to-day are luckier, for this fascinating little story is here printed for the first time with old favourites, such as "The Purple Jar," from "Eosamond and. the Parents' Assistant." This should make an excellent present for children, especially for those whoso parents ' remember with pleasure the old favourites read to them, in their childhood.
