TRANSPORT WORKERS' PICNIC.

In spite of the depression, the Wellington transport workers are holding their annual picnic at Newtown Park on Wednesday next. An energetic committee has been set up to provide tho children with a most enjoyable day. The hon. secretary, Mr. R. J. Seal, has made all necessary arrangements to cater for young and old. There will be Highland dancing, tug-of-war, wrestling, a "lucky baby" competition, sports for children and adults; lollies, soft drinks, and toys for the children. Hot water an.d milk will be provided free. If the picnic is postponed a fourflag signal will be flown at Mt. Victoria from 7.30 to 8.30 o'clock on picnic morning.
