TWENTY THOUSAND CRIME
(Received sth January, 1 p.m.) LONDON,' 4th January. One of the most daring highway robberies in'years was. carried out in the heart of the "West End in the presence of crowds of. shoppers and almost under the nose of a policeman. The manager of a jeweller's.estab-. lishment returning- from the bank was attacked and robbed of a box of jewels i worth nearly £20,000. The thief jumped into a car and escaped, the police flying squad vainly pursuing.
