A strong win"d sprang up, which militated against accurate play. The'^outh Island and South Canterbury men's title was won by W. G. Robertson, of Tiniaru, who was too clever for W. E. Souter, Christchurch, but formerly of Timaru. The final with " E.G. Boddy, Dunedin, and B. B. Lough-, nan, Christchurch,. was one of the most brdhant of the day. Wakey and.B. Gould, who had little trouble in defeating Slisses M. Gibson and D, Hart,' Timaru, winning straight sets. ; . ■. The final p£ the cbmbihed doubles saw Robertson and Miss Gibson, ,: Timaru, triumph over Loughnan and Miss Wake Christchurch.
