BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY
The New Year was joyously celebiated by the men at the British Sailors' Society. On New Year's Eve a social evening was hold and games were indulged in until a late hour, when all joined in singing "Auld Lang Sj ne" and the Boiology. On. New Yeai's Day, although the weather looked very threatening, a very happy party, comprising the crews o£ both' tlie' 'Dutch tugs and the floating dock, with the,woikers of the society, set off by motor-buses for Maon Bank, where the large ..bain had been cleaved and put at the party's convenience by Mr. E. Qumn. Games, tug-of-nar, etc., weie indulged in, and luncheon was >erved, and at 3.30 p.m. the paity set off for town for tea m the institute In the evening an impiomptu concert was held, and some veiy fine singing and plajing i\as provided by the men of the tugs On Saturday another speufl-jwening was given, and the rooms w^£*ffitlltt'sQ capacity. Games, musical items, songs, etc., were indulged in. Several hymns in Dutch -i\eie sung by the men present The secretaiy announced that a football match had been arranged between the men of (he tugs, and mission workers for next Saturday.
