RETURNING OPTIMISM
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLANTJ, This Day. Signs of returning optimism in Malaya and the Straits Settlement -were referred to by Mr. X G. Faraday, formerly o [ Auckland, who returned by the Narbada after four years as consulting engineer in the Far East. Although people arc still economising, said Mr. Faraday, they believed that the lowest point had been reached, hud were facing the future with optimism. Many large Government building projects were being proceeded with actively. Singapore •was progressing "in a striking fashion.
