SITUATION IMPROVES
HOOLIGANS STILL ACTIVE
, (Received 2nd January, 8 a.m.) DELHI, Ist January. The Government's firm measures in the North-West Frontier Province '■ are proving effective in crushing tho "Red Shirt" movement. Tho situation gener-, ally has improved, although Peshawar' city is still disturbed. The hooligan element, encouraged by the subversive activities of the Bed Shirts, created trouble last night, when 150 were arrested. Troops are being, held in readiness outside the city to deal with any recrudescenco of rioting.
