GAS EXPLOSION
BUSY LONDON STREET
(British Official Wirelass.) (Received 31st December, 10.45 a.m.) RUGBY, 30th December. A startling gas main explosion occurred in Throgmorton avenue in the heart of the city, when the street was thronged with business people, this morning. Six manholes burst into flames almost simultaneously. The blaze was quickly subdued by firemen, and no one was hurt.
