APPRECIATION
(To the Editor,) Sir,—Through the medium of the "Kven-' ing Post" I would like, as a member of the unfortunates of this city, to express my gratitude to the manager of the Salvation Army Workmen's Home, and a'l : who participated jn cheering and catering for us on Christmas Day, We were quito j surprised/ on awaking Christmas morning ta' find that each of us received a present in the form of a, pair of socks, which wns very acceptable, in these hard tiine3. Dinner time ar.riv.ed, and we were pleased to ace the dining-room, brightly decorated in keeping ■ with the Christinas season. The tables were artistically arranged. We all thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas dinEer (and, yes, tea also),, and .wo went .away thoroughly.satisfied with.the Christ' mas Day. Over .123.men.sat dowhiov.dinner (and. to tea nbo\|t JOO), and'by the looks oii.4hf> mpn's. faces I, feel siu.'e the.managar of. the homo was amply repaid for his labour. —I ani, etc. •: • ' ■ '•■■ . ■■■-■ \-i ■ GRATITUDE."
