BEATTY IN THE FIELD
ON BEHALF OF SON LONDON, Bth October. Lord Beatty in his first-political speech on behalf of his son, Viscount Borodale; who is contesting the Peckham seat as a Conservative, said: "We proved ourselves worthy of the country in 1914 and we must now show that we are still worthy. '' Socialism must be shattered. The Empire as a nation has never fallen so low in the eyes of the world. "Our sea power has been squandered and reduced to impotency. Our industries are wasted, and our unemployed are paid to'remain in hated idleness."
