WAGG WINS WINTER CUP
CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS There was not a breath of wind in the afternoon at the provincial championship meeting, held at the Hull Golf Club's course yesterday. Conditions could hardly have been more ideal, but the scoring remained high. Most of. the blame for this amongst the unsuccessful ones was laid at the door of the numerous bunkers, which it is generally admitted are easy to find but not so easy to play out of; but quite a lot was also said about the greens, which were certainly op the long side, and, whether due to the presence of gravel from the bunkers or because some ol the greens were not true, putts were | hard to keep on the .line. The fairways were hard to find fault with,. however, and the visitors liked the links. Not a few admitted that their long scores were due to the fact that the plentifully trapped links are a severe test of golf. THE AMATEURS.
