RECENT EVENTS IN NAVY STATEMENT BY FIRST LORD (British Official Wtretoje.) RUGBY, 6th October. In the House of Commons to-day, tho First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Austen Chamberlain, stated that it was not the .intention of tho Admiralty to set up ;»uy further Committee of Inquiry .into tho recent events in < the Navy. The representations made in regard to pay and-pensions at the inquiries in the home ports, together with the communications received from the Commaii-ders-in-Chiof iv foreign stations, had boon the subject ,of careful consideration, and 'Fleet Orders", announcing the decisions reached as a result of these representations, had now boon published." Tho ships of the Atlantic Fleet which had remained kt home ports to facilitate the holding of inquiries would teassemble at an early date and continue' their exercises. The Admiralty was carefully considering whether any and, if so, what changos were necessary in the methods at present open to men of the Navy for making representations as to service conditions.
