! The monthly meeting of the Wellington Burns: Club was held, on. The humour of Burns was demonstrated by a delightful, reridertiig'; of,"Tarn; .o'i; Shanter,''* and not the least successful effdrt by; Mr. Thomson, was 'the'recital''of*a letter written in April, 1793, to Mr. John Francis Erskine of Mar when that gentleman expressed; a wish to assist Burns Kin his difficulties. Miss^Webbjsang-'''To Banks andißjcaef'^ and '"Lilllh!''i! Missi'Freeman, '" "Dbiiglaa" Gofdoh" 'and "Brian ofi Glenaar"; Mr. R. S. Rodgers, "The Herding Song,'| "Tomorrow," and "Sprig of Boronia"; and •Mr.-,. Andersou^^'Annje,. Laurie" ahd "The Bonnie/Bank«}^o|; Loch Lomo'nd^'- sMis^ Dorothy SpinkSv acted as accompariistVCv;-) The. chairman drew attention to the Diploma of Membership of the World's Burns' Federation, which was 'now' framed and would: be onAview^each meeting night... He also, intimated tbat;,.'the:'; club would hold a. special function on 25th January in honour of the poet's anniversary.
