LADY ATHLETES
ONE TRAINING GROUND
"The past season has been quite a successful one, from the, competitors' point of -view, and it is -pleasing, to note that the number1 of -lady competitors is increasing each season,", states the annual report of'the Wellington Ladies' Amateur Athletic Club. The report is to be'presented with the balance-sheet at the annual meeting on Monday, evening. ' ," With reference to, performances of members during^ the past,season/ the report says that Miss C. Millar, by gaining mosj; points, won the Peat Pendant. The club's relay team, comprising Misses Sharp, Willson, Blatherwick, and Millar, was again successful in - winning the Eric Eiddif ord Cup. During the season visits were paid to Wanganui, Garterton, and Motueka, where the Wellington girls were successful in several of the events. With a view to keeping the members of the club together during the winter months, two teams were again entered in the basketball Competitions'. The senior B team, comprising Misses Blatherwick, . Sharp, Willson, Hooper, Boswell, Deslands, D. Hiscock, X Taylor, and G. Millar, was successful in winning the senior B championship. "Members are urged to train more systematically this season," adds the'report. "Owing to the increasing number of competitors, this is necessary if our club wants to keep to the fore. There is no doubt that our members showed most improvement when training together, and your committee suggests that during the coming season'one training ground be used for all members." '
