It is reported that gold worth.' £1,000,000 has been located in th* underground passage of a tenth-eenturyj monastery in Hertain, a small town on the Franco-Belgian frontier, with the aid of a divining rod. The Abbe Le Grand, a noted waterfinder, indicated the hoard, and ancient chartsi confirmed the- position of th» treasure. Some gold coins already; have- been excavated.
