INCREASE IN BANKRUPTCY

LONDON, Gth October. The " Daily Mail's" Berlin correspondent says that the seriousness of the situation is revealed by the rapid increase in German bankruptcies. For September they number 1029, compared with 735 in August. So far there have been in nine months 9771 bankruptcies and 5690 j compositions with creditors. The Mansfield copper works are on the eve of closing. The main works are losing £40,000 a month. The workers rejected a 12 per cent. cut.
