DICKENS-SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY.

The Dickens-Shakespeare Society's meeting on Monday was presided over by Mr. Clement May. The-main item of the evening was a very charming and enjoyable talk on the author Priestly, by Mrs. R. H. Huntington. A short musical programme included the following:—Songs by Mr. G. Warring, "The Luteplayer," "Harlequin," and "Stonecracker John"; songs by Mr. R. Trewern, "Macushla," "Serenade" (Schubert); violin solos by Mr. E. Sharpe, "Czardas" and "Hungarian Dance." A vote of thanks was accorded all who took part.
