FOUR JOCKEYS GUILTY

DRASTIC ACTION TAKEN

(By Telegraph.—Presß Association.) j AUCKLAND, 6th October. Alter a very exhaustive inquiry, the Auckland District Racing Committee found that L. H. Watson, H.E. Goldfinch, F. R. Foster, and K. V. Gill, jockeys who rode in the Buckland Hack Handicap run at the meeting held by the Franklin Racing Club on 7th March, were guilty of conspiracy. The committee imposed disqualifications ranging from life to I' 2 months. The committee found that the jockeys concerned committed a breach of rule 295 (1) and were guilty of corrupt and fraudulent practice within the meaning of, rule 351 (1), (n) of the Rules of Racing by conspiring to permit and assist the horse Royal Survey to win the said Bucklaud Hack Handicap. „ ''~-„__. It was resolved that the said h. H. Watson be disqualified for life; H. E. Goldfinch be disqualified for 12 months; F. R. Foster be disqualified for 12 months; and K. V. Gill be disqualified for three years; the dates in each case, as from 6th Oeto"rhe committee further found that there was not sufficient evidence to prove R. 8. Bagby and H. E. Gray, who also rode m the race, guilty of being associated with the conspiracy.
