Some inter-State scratchings are still unavailable. . A message from Sydney states that Phar Lap was scratched there at 12.55 p.m. for the Caulfield Cup. The owners say there is no' certainty that he will start for the Melbourne Cup. Other Caulfield Cup scratchings include Paton, Ithuriel, Carlina, Coolac, Mira Donna.
