A depression to the westward has moved very slowly in this direction, and the fall in barometers over New. Zealand has, therefore, been correspondingly glow. Warm, springlike conditions have been experienced, with moderate, but freshening, northerly, winds. Tnera has, however, been' a gradual Increase in cloud, and this morning the skies were overcast nearly everywhere. Since last night rain has fallen at places with a westerly aspect, and some heavy falls have been reported in. the western districts of the South Island. Westport has had ,110 points, Greyraouth 160, and Arthur's Pass as much as 420 points.
