MOTUROA OIL FIELDS, LTD.

The following report for the week ending 3rd October has been received to-day from Moturoa Oil Fields, Ltd., No. 2 Well: "Pulled out screen and experimented with swabbing to see effect on production. Swabbing produced 123 barrels clean oil, but brought too much sand into well. Now cleaning out."

HEMP AND TOW GRADINGS DOWN

Gradings of hemp and tow at Dominion ports last month compare as follows with those for September, 1930:— Sept., 1930. Sept., 1931. Bales. Bales.

Hemp Tow

Decrease as compared with September gradings of last year 419 bales hemp and 99 bales tow. Grades for September were 6 bales good fair, 90 high fair, and 221 low fair.
