A smart trip from Christchureh to Wellington was. made yesterday by FlightLieutenant J. C. Mercer, pilot-instructor of the Canterbury Aero Club. He left Christchurch at 11.55 a.m. accompanied by a passenger who wished to attend a business conference in Wellington. A stop was made at Kaikoura for refuelling. The journey was continued at 1.10 p.m., and the machine arrived at Rongotai at 2.25 p.m. Flight-Lieutenant Mercer left Wellington nt 0 o'clock this morning on the return, trip.
