BIG DEMONSTRATION
TO-MORROW'S DEPUTATION (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. At midnight to-night the settlers in the remote areas of Marlborough will begin their long trek to the railhead at Wharanui to join tho monster deputation which is going to Wellington to appeal to Parliament for fresh consideration for the South Island Main Trunk railway. A special train leaves Wharanui for Picton at 4 a.m.j gathering deputationists en route. Tho firebell will be rung in Blenheim at 5 a.m. to awaken people in tirno to catch tho train hero at 6.10 a.m. The Tamahine will leavo Picton at 7.15 a.m., and on arrival in Wellington tho members of the deputation, expected to number up to 600, will march to Parliament Buildings. Arrangements are being made to bring a pipe band to lend a final touch to tho pilgrimage, which is designed to testify to Marlborough's unanimity on the project and its honest belief in the line. Members of the deputation will come from as far south as tho Conway and Kaikoura and from remote parts of tho Sounds, involving hours of launch travelling, as well as from tho districts along tho railway line.
