EVENT OF THE DAY

MEETING OF LEADERS ALONE TOGETHER (British Official Wireless.) (Received Oth October, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, sth October. The political event of the day attracting most attention was this morning's visit of tho Prime Minister to Mr. Lloyd George. Mr. Mac Donald drove to Churt, tho Liberal Leader's Surrey home, and spent an hour and a. half alone with him. Mr. Lloyd George is the only political leader the Prime Minister has not seen personally during tho last few days. This, of course, was. due solely to the illness of Mr. Lloyd George, who has not yet recovered sufficiently from his recent operation to visit London. On returning to Downing Street the Prime Minister received a visit from the King's Private Secretary, Sir Clive Wigram. Later in the day the Prime Minister had a consultation with other Ministers and members of all parties of the House of Commons.
