POWERS OF THE COUNCIL

(By Telegraph.—Prfess Association.) DUNEDIN, sth October. Dissatisfaction with the present method of controlling cricket in New Zealand was expressed at a meeting of the Otago Cricket Association to-night. Though" it was agreed that the. headquarters of the game should remain at Christchuich, the opinion was expressed that the powers of the Management Committee of the council were too wide, and that the ■ council should formulate a. general policy, leaving only the details to the committee. ~ , . One matter in- respect to which it was felt the council should not have the final decision was the arrangement of overseas tours and the methods by which these should be financed. A sub-committee.was set up to ensure that proposals for a more acceptable system of control went forward to the annual meeting of the council in proper form.
