WORKING MEN'S CLUB
Before the above club's match against Brooklyn on Saturday evening, the president (Mr. A. D. Pickard)) presented the following nine prizes, which could hot be handed over at the 42nd-annual general meeting on 6th June last as the two handicap tourneys of last season had not at that time been completed:—Chess handicap: Ist, K. Beyer; 2nd, H. M. Rosenberg; 3rd, J. Lindsay; and 4th, T. Nolan. Draughts (sealed handicap): Ist, J. Ryan (scr); 2nd, J. M'Lean (handicap 6); 3rd, W. Colwell (handicap i):; ,4th, divided by. R. Williams (handicap^), and F.ff. Ryan (handicap 7). Mr. Beyer also t°ols first prize in the club's chess championship tourney (1930-31), and has thus scored the same fine "double" that Mr. S. Eaulknor registered at Ngaio.
