RUMOUR DISCREDITED

RUSSIANS FOR AUSTRALIA

LONDON, 29th September. Well-informed persons ridicule the re-cently-published statement that 3000 Russian women are passing through London on their way to Australia in order to join Siberian husbands there. The rumour is characterised as a Continental "cock-and-bull" newspaper story. . It is pointed out that Siberians, as Asiatics* would be subject to the Commonwealth's migration restriction laws, and it is absurd to suppose that any have entered Australia.
