AUDACIOUS AIRMAN

FLIGHT OVER ROME

ANTI-FASCIST DODGERS

(Beceived sth October, 10 a.m.) EOME, 4th October. Mystery surrounds the feat of an audacious airman who flew over the city and dropped several thousands of antiFa"scist leaflets on the thinnest paper, some: addressed to the King and others to Signor Mussolini, reminding him that this was the eighth year since the murder of Matteotti, and reviling-Italians for enduring the yoke of Fascism and exhorting them to follow the example of Spain. With characteristic promptitude 25,000 Fascists demonstrated on the Piazza Collona at midnight as a. counter offensive to.th'o aeroplane leaflets. The Federal Secretary at/ Borne, accompanied by the entire Fascist directorate of the capital, addressed the crowd;,which cried with one voice: 'Down with anti-Fascists! Long live the, King, II Duce, and Fascism!"
