SPRING WEATHER

COMING CHANGE DELAYED

The "cloudy but fine conditions which marked Wellington's weather' yesterday, and which gave way to a greater supply of sunshine to-day, are likely to be followed by further fine weather, the change which was anticipated on Saturday having.been delayed as the result of the anti-cyclone at present influencing the Dominion's weather having gradually become more intense since moving onto New Zealand on Saturday. Barometer readings, of over 30.40 inches have been recorded at many places since yesterday. ' Consequently, during the week-end, fine, spring-like weather has been experienced over' the whole Dominion, with light to moderate Northerly winds predominating. Day temperatures have been warm everywhere, but a few light frosts have occurred in the South Island. . , . Auckland had a brilliantly fine weekend with light, variable winds. At Wellington it was fine and sunny on Saturday, but a fresh northerly prevailed yesterday. The weather was warm and pleasant, although cloudy at times. It was a calm, fino weekend at Christchurch, but yesterday w(»s cloudy. A slight frost was recorded there last night. Dunedin ; also experienced pleasant, spring-like weather, but with considerable. cloud on Saturday afternoon and all day; yesterday. The forecast is for moderate but freshening north-easterly to northerly winds. The weather is still likely to be fair to fine, with varm r temperatures. Cloud and haze, however, will gradually increase and rain develop soon in the. northern and southern extremities of the Dominion,. and spreading later to other districts. • ' -: ~■: ! ;
