POLICE MEASURES
KIRKWOOD IN COMMONS

LONDON; 2nd October. Iv the House of Commons, following back-bench protests at tho police measures in last night's disturbances in Glasgow, and the Secretary for Scotland's denial of repression, Mr. D. Kirkwood (Labour), Dumbarton, said: "If you don't change tho demeanour of the authorities in Glasgow, you will have! a chance of putting every one of us in gaol. You will take our lives or wo will!"take yours. Do you think we are going to stand by and see our people batoned?"
The Speaker called on the next business. ' .
