.At this year's.a,nnual meeting,of the Wellington jlJnion,' a' ' resolution. ;wa«passed -that Wanganui, ,ih view.of.the financial .situation,.- would .nejther,! accept from' other unions, -nor 'give; visits ing teams, entertainment on the'scale that had: previously, been, the rule, and it was decided that official dinners should not be tendered.- According to reports th^t have come from the Biver City, however, the, terms,of the resolution have not! been strictly carried'put, but other unions during the season have had' cause:■■ to consider the question, which is ■Te.cognisedto.'be-onev.caliing; for an . understanding among the.various Junions. A remark was passed by a committeeman, that the fact that there was no liquor provided at official dinners tended to. make the functions more' orderly; but several' speakers 'immediately' denied that there had ever been -any cause for complaint in .that Wspect so far as dinners at Wellington were concerned.1.. ~.;.-.. .'.. •', . .
