"THE EATYOUP"
Once upon a time there wa» a duck called Dicky. He thought lie was the wisest duck there ever was. One day he was at the pond near the wood, when he heard a small voice say, "I do wish someone wise would speak to met" . Dicky thought he was very wise, and he would talk to the, poor creature. Dicky said: "Who are you? If you came out w;e could talk better." But Mr. Fox was wise enough not to show himself, but lay stiller than ever. "I am the Eatyoup, but I would' not like yon to see how small and ugly I am,"; said - Mr. Fox. "Please tome a little closer so that I can hear you better." Dicky swam close to. the edge. Suddenly out sprang Mr. Fox, but Dicky used both - feet and wings, and, was soon safely in the middle of the pond. When he got back to-the farm he told all the fowls that he had seen a new creature like Hover, but called the Eatyoup. "YELLOW PANSY" (11). Featherston. '
