CRICKET TOUR

SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM

SAILS FOR AUSTRALIA

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ' ■./.'■ (Received 3rd October, 2 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, 2nd October. The representative South African cricket team assembled here to-day and was farewelled at a Mayoral luncheon. The team sails at noon to-morrow for Australia. The manager, Mr. Tandy, said that the team was young and keen as mustard; "We have now.won the rubber against the M.C.C. on a hard matting wicket. Australian wickets are a different proposition and all feel that they are going to.learn something, specially how to score on a plumb wicket, which should be profitable in view qf the next team going to England. We may not have a Grimmett, but our fielding will be a tremendous asset." H. B. Cameron is captain of the team. It is about twenty years "since' a South African team visited Australia.
