LIFE IMPRISONMENT
DEATH SENTENCE V COMMUTED
After taking into consideration all the facts, as well as the strong recommendation of the jury for mercy, the Executive Council, His Excellency tho Governor-General presiding, decided this afternoon that the sentence of death passed on Pahara Ramcka Kere (George Bameka), who was found guilty of murdering Mrs. Gwcn Johnson at Auckland, should be commuted to imprisonment for life.
