A visitor to New Zealand is the Her* E. H. Owen, headmaster of TJppinghanr School, England. He arrived in Auck« land with Mrs. Owen on the Bangitiki,' and will, "The Post's" Auckland corre* spondeat writes, after first visiting Roi torua, make a tour of both islands, having received many invitations to visit) various colleges throughout the country* Mr. Owen is a noted educationist. Hai graduated at Oxford. From 1915 tai 1915 he acted as joint secretary of -thai.' Oxford and Cambridge ExaminationBoard. He was appointed headmaster of Uppinghani in 1915, when only 28 years of age. He was select preacher] at Oxford ia 1926 and 1927. His visit forms part of a world tour undertake* for reasons of health.
A presentation of cut glass was madfi yesterday at the meeting of. the Hut.t Valley Headmasters' Association toj Mr. and Mrs. B. N. Wilson. Mr. Wilsoii is headmaster of the Waiwhetu School, and is leaving shortly to take up a position at the Wanganui East School. The presentation was made by the president of the association, Mr. J. C. Barns, M.A., and he and several other members made congratulatory speeches.
Mr. Robert Parker, C.M.G., a wellknown. New Zealand musician, will enter upon his 54th year as organist and choirmaster at St. Paul's ProCathedral on Sunday, when, to mark the occasion the <eboir will render |Mendelssohn's oratorio, -VSt,.
