WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION
At the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association Mr. C. G., Swinburne- presided. The following were also present: Messrs. Baigent, Chatwin, Gribble, Maley, M'Duff, Stirling, Thornton, Williams, and H. N. Burns (lion, secretary). :' •' It was decided to separate the men's and ladies' section in the senior A, senior B, and junior grades of the inter-club matches./ The matches in these grades are to Consist of four singles and four doubles events. . , Entrance fees for.the inter-club championships were fixed as follows:— Senior A: £1 per team, and Ss per player ground fee; senior B and junior, 15s per team and is 6d per player ground fee; third, intermediate, and fourth, £1 per team, and 2s per player. ground fee. Balls will be provided by the association as follows:—Senior A, 8 pairs; remainder,----6 pairs. The balls will be the.property of the clubs after the matches. Entries will close with the hon. secretary on 17th October. The official ball was adopted for the forthcoming season. A player who had not paid his club subscription was posted as a defaulter. It was decided to reduce -the space between the courts so as to permit of the inclusion of an extra grass court at Miramar. Four new ordinary, members and three new associate members were elected. The matter, of catering was left in the hands at the chairman and secretary to finalise before Saturday next. Mr. R. W. Lander was appointed to the remaining vacancy on the Management Committee. . . _ ■ •
