DIAMOND JUBILEE
THE OLDEST RUGBY CLUB
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evennig Post." DUNEDIN, This Day. Dunedin, the oldest active Rugby Club in the Dominion, celebrated its diamond jubilee on Tuesday. In its early stages Dunedin played Wo games of football a year, its opponents being the Union Club, which is still in existence. In. t 1877 the Dunedin Club, with two Union players, sent a team through New Zealand, playing matches at Christchurchf Nelson, Wellington, Temuka, and Timaru, winning all of these and drawing with Auckland. Not a point was scored against the side. The dldest living member of the Dunedin Club is Mr. W. Mills. He joined in 1873 and was a member of the team that toured New Zealand. He represented Otago until 1885.
