SOUP KITCHEN CLOSES

The Eev. P. Houghton presided over a meeting of the.Brboklyn-Morningtbn-Vogeltowa1 Citizens' Belief Committee in the Brooklyn School on "Monday. The Eev. Mr. Hercus reported that the soup kitchen had closed down on Saturday, after being in existence for over three months. Special thanks were accorded to Miss Crabtre'e for bread and Mr. Warren for fuel'and meat. Mrs. Miller reported, that, the depot was working satisfactorily.. On the average, fprthe |past six weeks 44 families were supplied with groceries weekly. "Pound Days" at schools^ had been well supported, and thanks were expressed to headmasters; teachers, anft children, also Mr. Smelt, for conveying goods to,the depot. A donation of 15s weekly had been received, which, was used to buy special goods for sick people. Thirteen pairs of shoes had now been bought from the shilling fund. The depot had. been short-stocked, but grants from the Mayor's Fund had enabled them to carry on. It was leportcd that the depot had ; moved from, 7 to 11, Todman. street.'.
