During the past 24 hours, while an anticyclone has been covering northern New Zealand, a series of depressions has moved over the Tasman Sea and the South Island. Moderate to strong northerly to westerly winds have predominated, but a temporary change to south-west took place during the night on parts of the east coast. Fair, to cloudy weather has been experienced over most of the North Island and the - east coast districts of he South Island. In Westland and Otago it has been unsettled and wet. some heavy rain having occurred at places. Okiiru in South Westland has had 544 points. Temporatures have been mild everywhere.
