The course propes, with poles :45 feet out from the rails,' was available, and also the No. 3 grass. ■'■ The going was oil the heavy side on the course proper. • Gold Money was first out, and, after running he.1 first two furlongs in 27sec, completed. five, furlongs in lmin Bsoc. She .carried a light weight, but worked pleasingly. The two-year-olds, Posy and Rulanut,, after completing, the first fjrlong in 13' 2-,sscc, covered half a mile in 53 4-ssec. They finished togethor. '.' '".,''! ■ Lady Pam and Spear, Lad were sent seven /furlongs, finishing' .together in lmin '38 3-ssec. They, ran the first three furlongs in 40 l-ssec. • The two-year-olds, Midinette and' Genestra, were going comfortably at the end of half a mile, which, took" 53 2-ssec. The'former was in front at the finish; Motere ail'd ■Taurua wore sent a' mile, running the first half in. 57 l-ssee and the full distance in lmin 55 2-ssec.; Both worked very freely, Karapoti jumped off at the five-fur-long post, • running the firsf furlong in 13acc and completing the. task in lmin 7 2-ssec. He was loafing at the finish, Aotaeon and Cape Gold were on terms Over six furlongs, the first three taking 41 l-ssec, and the full distance lmin 24see. Cadland and Consent'were.given a similar task, the'first three! furlongs occupying 39 3-ssec, and the full distance lmin 23 l-ssee. Cadland was over a length' ahead. when the post, was reached. at the cud of six furlongs run jn lmia 24 2-oscc, tho fust tinco taking 41sec. Full Measure, carrying a fair weight, completed five fuilongs in Imin 9 1-5 sec. The two-year-old, Miss Linlay, Sea lluler, and Splutter were timed to run four furlongs in 52 l-ssec. This was a gQod gallop. The first-natocd pair pleased most. Supremacy was too good for Richfield over five furlongs, the flist two taking 2(5 l-ssec and the full distance Imin 6 4-Dsec. Supremacy, who was veiy wide out, finished iv good style. King Foid splinted home from the three furlong post in 41 3-sscc, going very freely. Tho Guineas candidate, View llalloo, was in front of Peter Jackson tit the end 'of Six furlongs, tho first three taking 58 3-ssec and tho full distanco Imin 21 3-ssec. This was the best effort of the morning over six furlongs. Volimond ran four furlongs in 35 2-saec, and Lucidius was in front of Biddy's Boy over five furlongs in Imin 13 2-st.ee. Both could have done better. Tho Waikato juvenile, Eippling Wutcis, was always doing bettor/ than Illuniinugh over half a mile iv 52 1-5 sec—a good performance. llcniton was doing hor best to complete i'oui furlongs in 55 l-s«cc. After breakfast tho' best effort over five furlongs was rrgistercd by Gol&en Wings, .who ran tho first two in 25scc and finished in lmia 5 4-ssec. The Guineas candidate was going nicely at tho finish. ' My Own was timed- to run i tho last seven furlongs in Imin 3d 2-6 sec. Jenny Diver assisted her over the' last five, which took Imin 10 0-ssec. My Own was in front at tho, finish. Whirlalong and United finished in front of Jewelled Girdle over a similar distance in the same time. - Catoma and Gibraltar were almost on terms ahead of Wild Country at the ond of seven furlongs. They ran the first throe furlongs in 40 3-ssefi and completed tho journey in lmm 37eec. Tho flrsst-namod paid worked lmpresBrGay Lap was a shade better than Powa with Curio several lengths away at tho end of five furlongs. The first two took S3 2-sscc arid the full distance Imin 6 4-sscc. Gay Lap pleased the "Croupier was associated with Orapai and Lady Quex over fivo furlongs; the first two occupied 25 2-sscc. They came homo in Imin 6 2-ssec. Orapax finisuod in front of Croupier, with Lady Quex a couple of lengths away. , . Little Doubt, Cessation,Tanerm, and Seatown were companions over a miie. They ran the first two *f]oag.iß «•} 4-ssec. Seatown, who got the best or the start, was in front at this stage. Little Doubt aud Cessation both did their ovork in good style, as did Taneriri, who was eoncedmg them a lot of weight. Seatown is not a «ood trta kMo°d r e«e and Inflation after taking 16 3-ssee for their first furlong, were tinted to run half ft nule, m 56 2-ssec, La Moderne pleased tnost.
