In the course of a three months' cruise around the-New- Zealand coast, H.M.S. Diomede arrived in port this morning, from Auckland, berthing at the Clyde Quay Wharf at 7.18 a.m. Bear-Admiral G. Blake, who has been visiting Wellington for some days, hag rejoined the vessel, and, as Commodore of the New Zealand Division of tha Boyal Navy, will pay official calls to« morrow. •"■' At 9.45 a.m. he is to call on the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, and at 10 a.m. on the Wellington Harbour Board. The Mayo~r will return the call at 12.15 p.m., and the acting-chairman of the Harbour Board, Mr. H. D. Bennett, at 12.30 p.m. To-morow night Admiral Blake will attend the Navy League Ball, and on Saturday evening ha will be the guest of the Savage Club. So far no other official engagements have been mapped out. The ratings will be given the usual shore leave while the cruiser in in port.
