(Received 30th Sept., 9, a.m.) . SYDNEY, This Day. In. the Sydney Criminal Court BobertChrystal, 23, and Kenneth Farlow, 27, were convicted of wounding;with intent to murder Constable Ulrick, ait Vau-1 eluse, and sentenced to death. -The prisoners' defence was an alibi. /. '
Arresting two housebreakers -red--handed at Vaucluse on 28th July, Constable Ulrick commanded the pair to ride in his side-car to the lock-up. Ulrick had just started the machine, when one man seized the revolver from the constable's holster, and shot Ulrick in the breast, the bullet being embedded in his back. The bicycle and side-car collided .with the kerb. The robbers, escaped, held up a passing motorist, and compelled him to drive them to Surry Hills, where they stopped the ear and disappeared. - .
Constable Ulrick was left in a very serious condition.
