CONTINUED ILL-HEALTH
POSSIBILITY OF CHANGE
SOME SPECULATION
(United Tress Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received Sth September, 10 a.m.) CALCUTTA, 7th September. The continued indisposition of the Viceroy, Lord Willingdon, is causing speculation as to whether there will shortly be a change in the Viceroyalty. It is recalled" that when he left Canada, aged 64, to succeed Lord Irwin in India in March last, he declared that he hoped his onerous position would only be temporary. Gossip connects the name of Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald with the Viceroyalty. It is rumoured that after the next General Election he will enjoy a short period of quiet retirement, that Lord Willingdon will resign, and Mr. Mac Donald will submit to pressure to come out to India.
