SPRING FLOWER SHOW

A very pleasant afternoon was spent at the Mission House recently, when Sister May presided over a good attendance, of members and friends' of the Nuhaka Women's Institute. . The annual Spring Flower Show. was. held, there (being a record number of entries, which made a beautiful display of:flowers. Mesdames Gambrill, Woodley; and' Johnson kindly acted as judges, and their task proved .a difficult one. The winners of the most points -were Mrs.: iDiiley, first with 19 points; and 'Mrs. X; Stewart, second with 10 points. Mrs. Crawford (Gisborne) gave a very interesting demonstration of her floral work, for which the institute extends ; its tha-nks... • ■ .-' ■/- -. :■. -During- the ; afternoon: songs -were . tributed - by: Mrs.. Goldstone, and a chorus by. ;the Maori .members. Three new. members; were . elected-, namely, Mesdames Wilson, Caddy, and Ropitini.
