. Doeg defeated Werner (LO3 Angeles), 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
. Shields eliminated Sendel (MexicoV, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0.
-: Busby (New York) eliminated Eainrille (Canada), 6-1, 6-0, 3-0. Tho latter defaulted after the third game in the final set owing to a stiff neck. Perry1 (England) defeated Scligson (New York), 6-4, 7-5, 4-6, 6-0. Norris 'Williams defeated Wright (-Canada), 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-9, .8-6.
