Tho sudden improvement in the weather which took place yesterday is likely to hold good at least for a day or two according. to the weather report issued at noon to-day.'■•. Cold, showery conditions' continued during Saturday along the cast coast between Banks Peninsular and East Cape, but elsewhere'the weather was mainly fair, and by yesterday it had become^ almost generally so under the influence of an anti-cyclone which had enveloped the Dominion. The southerly winds moderated during Saturday night, and since yesterday directions have been somewhat variable, the tendency this morning being for n'orthcrlies to prevail, j Auckland experienced a. fine weekend, a fresh southerly wind prevailing on Saturday, but littlo or no wind yesterday. Wellington continued to have cold weather on Saturday, frequent showers accompaying the strong southerly, wind. Yesterday was fine and sunny, what littlo wind there was being from the north. At Christchurcb it was cold and cloudy on Saturday, but !fiuo yesterday. During Saturday night 12 degrees of frost were registered i there.
